Finally, a laptop with a transparent display. This kind of thing could have been a figment of the imagination or even a wild dream before but it has come true thanks to Samsung. The prototype was featured at the CES 2010. The laptop features a transparent display about 14 inches in size. It does not need any solid background to produce the clear images on the screen. This is truly something. Even better than the now confirmed Apple iPad Tablet in my opinion. I am not much of an Apple fan anyway.

With this type of display, you will not have to worry about poor illumination or glare. From the looks of it, the only downside to this is that there is no privacy. Since the display is transparent, other people can see what you are viewing. This will not be an ideal laptop to bring to a coffee shop. You will turn heads with this unit for sure but you will also probably keep them looking which is not good as far as I am concerned.

One more thing, laptop screens are not at the top of my list when I am searching for a laptop. Although I would not mind having one, I do not think it will be a selling point for me. I feel that it will also be a disadvantage and an undesirable feature for gamers like me. I prefer the old school solid background display, which brings out the beauty of the game’s graphics. This would also be a disadvantage to you if you bring your laptop to the office. No more Farmville at the office for you J.
